A synthetic rubber emulsion used in cementitious bonding bridges and high-quality site-mixed mortars. It improves adhesion and workability while reducing permeability, shrinkage and cracking for repair, rendering, screeding and masonry applications.

Application

For use as a bonding agent and site-mix mortar admixture in:

• Cementitious bonding bridges.
• Grouts and floor screeds.
• Patch repair mortars.
• Masonry mortars and renders.
• Tile-fixing mortars.

Use as part of the specified cementitious mix. Improved water resistance and reduced permeability do not make this product a standalone liquid waterproofing membrane.

How to Use

1. Select the recommended mix for the intended application from the technical information below.
2. Combine SikaLatex KH with the specified amount of water to make a gauging solution.
3. Pour part of the solution into a suitable mixing container.
4. While stirring slowly, add the cement and sand mixture, or cement for the bonding slurry, and mix thoroughly to achieve a smooth, uniform, lump-free consistency.
5. During mixing, add the remaining gauging solution as required to obtain the desired consistency within the specified mix proportions.
6. Follow the current Sika Product Data Sheet and project requirements for substrate preparation, placement and curing of the chosen mortar or bonding system.

What's in the Box

One pail of SikaLatex KH in the selected 5L or 25L size. Cement, sand, mixing water and application tools are not listed as included.

Technical Information

The following are Sika's recommended batch proportions. Product quantities are stated in kilograms as in the reference; pail sizes are sold in litres. Do not confuse product-to-water dilution ratios with the complete mortar mix.

• Bonding agent: 20kg cement, no sand, 5L water and 5kg SikaLatex KH. Product-to-water ratio 1:1. Listed yield approximately 20m².
• Repair mortar or render: 50kg cement, 150kg sand graded 0–3mm, 20L water and 5kg SikaLatex KH. Product-to-water ratio 1:4. Listed yield approximately 125L mortar or 10m² render at 10mm thickness.
• Tile-fixing mortar: 30kg cement, 90kg sand graded 0–1mm, 10L water and 5kg SikaLatex KH. Product-to-water ratio 1:2. Listed coverage approximately 12m² at 5mm thickness.
• Floor screed: 50kg cement, 150kg sand graded 0–6mm, 20L water and 5kg SikaLatex KH. Standard product-to-water ratio 1:4; Sika separately lists 1:3 for high wear resistance. Confirm the adjusted water quantity for the high-wear mix before batching.
• Floor-screed coverage listed by Sika: Approximately 10m² at 10mm, 5m² at 20mm or 3m² at 30mm thickness.
• The reference's repair/render yield of 125L and coverage of 10m² at 10mm are not equivalent volumes. Confirm the practical yield with Sika before estimating project quantities.
