Application

For interior and exterior building-facade joints, around window and door frames, around precast and prefabricated elements, and floor and wall construction joints. Confirm suitability and joint design against the current Sika Product Data Sheet and project requirements.

How to Use

1. Prepare a sound, clean and dry substrate free from dirt, oil, grease, cement laitance, sealant residues and poorly bonded coatings.
2. Follow Sika's substrate-specific priming instructions. The existing listing identifies Sika Aktivator-205 for non-porous surfaces, Primer-3 N for other metals, Primer-215 for PVC, and Primer-3 N or Primer-115 for porous surfaces. Confirm the exact preparation and waiting times in the current Product Data Sheet.
3. Insert suitable backing rod, apply sealant with a compatible foil-pack gun, and tool firmly against the joint sides. Use a compatible tooling agent as specified by Sika.
4. Apply at ambient and substrate temperatures between +5°C and +40°C, with the substrate at least 3°C above the dew point.
5. Allow full cure before overpainting and test paint compatibility before full application.

One 600ml foil pack of Sika Sikaflex-140 Construction in the selected colour. Manufacturer carton packing is 20 foil packs; this is not the quantity included in an individual pack option. Gun, backing rod, primers and tooling agent are not listed as included.
