Application Steps

  • Substrate Preparation: Surface must be sound, clean, dry, and free from dirt, oil, grease, cement laitance, old sealants, and poorly bonded coatings. Use wire brushing, grinding, or sanding to remove weak material. Remove all dust before application.
  • Priming – Non-Porous Substrates: Aluminium, anodised aluminium, stainless steel, PVC, galvanised steel, powder-coated metals, glazed tiles: lightly abrade, then apply Sika® Cleaner P or Sika® Aktivator-205 with a clean cloth. Wait >15 min (<6 hours) before bonding. Other metals (copper, brass, titanium-zinc): apply Sika® Cleaner P or Aktivator-205, wait >15 min, then prime with Sika® Primer-3 N. Wait >30 min (<8 hours). PVC: apply Sika® Primer-215, wait >15 min (<8 hours).
  • Priming – Porous Substrates: Concrete, aerated concrete, cement renders, bricks: prime with Sika® Primer-3 N by brush. Wait >30 min (<8 hours) before bonding/sealing.
  • Application: Insert backing rod if required. Cut nozzle to desired bead size. Apply sealant into joint ensuring full contact with adhesion area. Tool immediately for smooth finish. Use Sika® Tooling Agent N if required.
  • Cleaning: Clean tools immediately with Sika® Remover-208. For skin cleaning use Sika® Cleaning Wipes-100. Cured material can only be removed mechanically.
