Sika Waterbar® O VN

A flexible thermoplastic PVC waterstop designed to stop water migration through construction and expansion joints in concrete structures. The multi-rib profile creates impenetrable barriers and sealing begins as soon as the concrete hardens. Available in 4 widths to suit all application types. Can be easily site-welded.

Application

Application Steps

  • Positioning: Position the Sika Waterbar® O VN centrally within the construction or expansion joint, ensuring the centre bulb or ribs are correctly aligned with the joint plane.
  • Fixing: Secure the waterstop in position using wire ties or clips to the reinforcement to prevent displacement during concrete pouring.
  • Concrete Placement: Pour and compact concrete carefully on both sides of the waterstop. Ensure full encapsulation without voids or honeycombing around the waterstop profile.
  • Site Welding: Where joints or connections are required, weld sections together using a welding knife. Ensure clean, even welds for a watertight connection.
  • Inspection: After concrete has hardened, inspect the joint area to confirm the waterstop is correctly embedded and no voids are present.
